Skin Problems

Have you been to specialist after specialist and tried product after product only to find your skin condition persists and just stubbornly won’t go away?  You may need to look deeper, I mean see what’s happening inside your body nutrition-wise.  Here are some free tips which may help you out and give you an idea of how nutrition and lifestyle changes can help you with your skin condition.

  • For dry skin and acne you may not be drinking enough water to stay hydrated.  Measure out half your weight in ounces i.e. a 150lb person would need about 75oz per day.

  • If that doesn’t work you may need some essential fatty acids or “good fats”.  These are your Omega 3, 6, 9 that you may have heard about.  Getting the right amounts of each and from the right source can reduce inflammation, itchiness and dry skin.

  • Little bumps on the back of your arms may indicate you are low in vitamin A.  Eat more vitamin A rich foods such as orange colored veggies and fruits as well as leafy greens.  Vitamin A can also help with acne breakouts.

  • Improving digestion can be a key step in reducing allergic type reactions such as eczema.  You may also have a “leaky gut” which allows small particles of undigested food to pass into your body confusing your immune system and causing reactions.  Assessing food sensitivities as well as a complete cleansing and rebuilding of your colon can do wonders.

  • Sure you wouldn’t (knowingly) drink toxic chemicals but are you putting them on your skin?  Everything that comes in contact with your skin can be absorbed into your body.  It’s important to look at all sources of toxin exposure this includes your drinking water (excess fluoride and chlorine have been linked to skin problems, see link below for more), ANYTHING you put on your skin and anything you eat.

If you are still battling your skin problem after trying the above tips then do come see me for advice and guidance. I focus my practice on finding the root problems of your health concerns as well as teaching you how to take control over your health and maintain your state of well-being for the rest of your life.
